Shiny New Things

I remember the first time I sat down in front of a 3D Modelling program when I was a sophomore in high school. It was an amazing time, especially given the program was ZBrush, but as time went on I never modeled for fun or anything other then technical renders for the longest time. Now, I am actually iterating things out all the time.

I have many more things modeled out than just these two, but they are for another time. The top image is the extremely rough version of a fuselage, while the bottom is an almost finished engine, at least to the extend of modelling. I need to do the mapping for the engine, but I feel like it's coming along nicely.

Grinding Away

It's been a little chunk of time since I last posted, and all for good reason. I've been engrossed in working on 3D models of a small Japanese pocket knife. I really do love 3D modelling and I hope I get the chance to really work on something amazing some day. Below is a quick render of my model without it being really cleaned up.

The final product will hopefully be better, until then, I'll try to keep up with posting some of the drawings I do every day.

Crosshatched Eye Studies

The other half of the crosshatching study I had to do.

Overall I am really proud of what I was able to crank out here. Especially given I had never seriously tried to crosshatch before. I am honestly surprised how far I've come in the past few months, and even more so over the past couple of years. Amazing what consistent hard work can do, isn't it?

Another Sketch I Did Instead of Animating

In the wonderful tradition of 10 min sketches I did when I was supposed to be animating for my class last semester.

It's a Fish-Bot!

Half-Finished Mech Sketch

See title.
Just one of the many things I drew instead of animating during this semester

Animation - Technical Difficulties

My animation final for Ani28 for this semester. YAY FOR PASSING! Sorry for it being so dark

Planes Oh My!

Just some random sketches I happened to have of planes and spaceships and such!

I like the second one more than the first. It might have to do with the fact that there are less perspective problems with that one. Yeah. That's it.

Starting Anew

Been a while since I did any major blogging, but now that I actually put out a decent amount of art work I figured I'd give it a shot.

For the time being it will mostly be personal sketches and whatever projects I happen to be working on for school.
